Two women having a warm conversation, representing the supportive community of HLFW clients
Success Stories

Real stories from women who started exactly where you are.

These are not stories about pushing harder. They are stories about women feeling steadier, stronger, and more willing to say yes to the life they want to keep living.

When you ask these women what changed, they do not talk about fitness metrics. They talk about climbing stairs without bracing. Getting up off the floor without a plan. Saying yes to things they would have quietly talked themselves out of. What you will find here are specific stories from women who started with real health histories: surgeries, injuries, arthritis, osteoporosis, and years away from movement. Women who started exactly where you are.

With the same questions. The same hesitations. The same hope that this time might actually be different.

"At 84, I walked Disney with my grandkids all day. Still going strong."

Mary

Cancer survivor with osteoporosis. She has trained with Heidi for years.

This is the kind of result that matters most: not an abstract fitness win, but staying strong and present for the moments that matter.

Recovering from Injury

"From a broken shoulder to 100 rounds of golf."

Shoulder Recovery Through Virtual Strength Training: Valerie's Story

Valerie came to Heidi after physiotherapy was done but her body had not come back to where it was.

8 Weeks of Training 100+ Rounds of Golf Shoulder Fully Restored

Eight weeks of targeted virtual upper body strength training helped Valerie restore her shoulder to its natural position and resolve the postural compensation patterns that physiotherapy alone had not corrected. The following season she completed over 100 rounds of golf.

THEN

Shoulder dropped and uneven after a skiing injury. Muscles atrophied. Physiotherapy complete but mobility and strength still significantly limited.

NOW

Shoulder restored to a more natural position. Posture realigned. 100 rounds of golf the following season.

Valerie came to Heidi after a skiing accident left her with a broken shoulder. She had completed her physiotherapy. The acute injury had healed. But her body had not come back to where it was. Her right shoulder was sitting lower than her left, pulled down by muscles that had wasted away during the period of injury and protection. She came in with one clear goal: to get her shoulder moving properly again.

The work focused on upper body strengthening and full-body mobility, built entirely around what Valerie's shoulder could actually do rather than what a standard program would assume. Within a few weeks, she wrote to say her shoulder was starting to feel different. A little later: "My shoulders are not hurting any longer."

"I am feeling stronger. There is no more pain in my shoulders like I had a couple weeks back."

Within eight weeks, her right shoulder had settled back into a more natural, even position. She was no longer protecting a shoulder that no longer needed protection. She kept training. She kept building. The following season she returned to golf and completed over 100 rounds.

A shoulder that had healed, but a body that was still learning to move and improve. That is the gap Heidi fills.

Preparing for Surgery

"She built the strength before she needed it."

Pre-Surgical Strength Through Virtual Training: Sandra's Story

Sandra had years of knee pain. When she got her surgery scheduled, she decided to use the time before surgery to prepare her body for the recovery.

6 Weeks of Prep Faster Recovery Exceeded Expectations

Six weeks of targeted pre-surgical strength training helped Sandra build the upper body, core, and knee strength needed for her knee replacement recovery to exceed her surgical team's expectations. Pre-surgical strength training reduces healing time and supports better mobility after surgery by strengthening the areas that carry additional load during recovery.

THEN

Over a year of excruciating knee pain. Knee replacement surgery scheduled. Strength, balance, and mobility in significant decline.

NOW

Six weeks of pre-surgical strength training completed. Post-surgical recovery exceeded her surgical team's expectations.

For years Sandra had been living with excruciating knee pain. Surgery was scheduled. There was no avoiding it. She came to Heidi to prepare her body so thoroughly for the recovery that when the hard part arrived, she would already have what she needed. The work had three clear areas of focus. Knee strengthening, to reduce muscle atrophy during recovery. Core strength, for getting in and out of bed and navigating a significantly limited body in the weeks after surgery. Upper body strength, because after a knee replacement the upper body does much of the work the lower body usually handles. Within six weeks the results were measurable.

"The exercises I did prior to my surgery helped with the exercises post-surgery. I was able to balance and walk and maneuver myself better just because of the increased strength in my arms and legs."

Her recovery was faster than anticipated. She did not wait to start recovering. Instead, she started before the surgery even occurred.

If you are facing a surgery and wondering whether it is worth doing anything before the date arrives, Sandra's answer is clear.

Book My Discovery Call

The women in these stories did not just complete a program. Many of them are still here, years later, still building. That is what happens when coaching keeps fitting. Heidi's clients stay for an average of 8 years. Most coaching and fitness programs see clients leave within months. That number reflects what happens when coaching is personal, attentive, and built to grow with the woman rather than stay fixed.
